Day Seven: An essential part of growing in holiness involves dying to self. This is not an easy task. To help us die to self, we are called to bear our daily crosses. St. Louis says that crosses are “the greatest graces and favors of Heaven.” Ponder what crosses you have been given. Can you identify the blessings in these crosses? How have you experienced “Heavenly graces or favors” as a result of bearing these crosses?

Together with her spouse, the Holy Spirit, she does this in the best way possible. However, in order for her to bring us to Jesus, we need to let go of always trying to do everything ourselves and keep from thinking that everything depends on us. Make a list of some things that you need to become detached from. Put a star next to the biggest or the one you think will be most difficult. Don’t worry, you will be surprised at how gently Mary helps you after you identify the need and pray about it. |
